How Vehicle Donation Works
Donate a Car Canada manages the vehicle-donation process on behalf of participating charities. Depending on the vehicle and its condition, it may be sold or recycled, with the resulting charitable proceeds directed to Durham Alliance Outreach.
The donation service coordinates the details of the vehicle donation, including arranging collection where available and processing the donation through its program.
Why Donate a Vehicle to DAO?
Funds raised through vehicle donations help DAO sustain community programs and services across Durham Region. DAO’s work includes the DAO Market, Club 717, Pride Durham, peer support, education and workshops, and other practical community supports.
A vehicle donation can be especially useful for someone who has a car, truck, van, or other eligible vehicle they no longer need and would like to turn into charitable support.
What About a Charitable Tax Receipt?
Receipting is handled as part of the Donate a Car Canada donation process and depends on the outcome and value of the vehicle donation. The donation service provides the applicable details during the process.
